This whole shutdown is unconscionable…

President Donald Trump signed a bill Thursday to fund the Department of Homeland Security, including the U.S. Coast Guard, after a 76-day partial government shutdown.

The signing came hours after the House passed Senate-approved legislation to fund the department. The bill funds DHS agencies that are not involved in Trump’s immigration crackdown through the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30.

It’s not like most of these people have enough money in the bank to last a couple of months to pay all their bills, in any of the organizations. Of course the congresscritters get paid anyway, so they don’t really care. It’s just politics to them… Grrrr…

In addition to the Coasties, who would have stopped being paid next week, it also funds the Coast Guard civilians, and releases money to pay for housing including electric, which was being cut off in some Coast Guard housing!

It also provides funding for the TSA, FEMA, and Secret Service through September, so this means they whole s**t show is going to start again in September and probably stretch through Christmas (again)…

I don’t think there has been an actual budget approved on time since sometime in the early 2000s, but I may be wrong.

Once again, the little people at the end of the funding/food chain are the ones to take it in the shorts, and nobody but them cares. This was NOT what I defended, and I’m pretty sure most of you feel the same way I do.

Something about all enemies foreign AND domestic. And we’re getting a pretty good idea of who is who, IMHO.

And of course tomorrow is May Day, so the left will be celebrating…

And I’m gonna stop now and go take my BP meds… sigh

My first gun was a Stevens  Crack Shot .22 (which I still have), the 94 was given to me in 1963 for my birthday, the 4 inch Python in 1966, and I bought the 6 inch Python  in 1972 when I turned 21. I bought the Ruger MK II bull barrel in 1982 to replace the MK 1 that I’d basically shot out…

Hoist on their own petard…

You gotta hand it to the previous leadership at The Walt Disney Company, they were totally committed to hurting their business in order to score useless political points with a tiny percentage of their customer base. 

Just a few years ago, Disney found itself unnecessarily in the middle of a political fight with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. The state legislature in 2022 passed the Parental Rights in Education Act, meant to ensure that children were protected from being exposed to inappropriate content at a very young age. 

This was immediately labeled the “Don’t Say Gay” act from left-wing critics, apparently desperate to have children in K-3 grades taught about advanced sexual topics. What did this bill have to do with a private company that ostensibly makes family-friendly entertainment and runs all-ages theme parks? Literally nothing. And initially, then-CEO Bob Chapek maintained that the company shouldn’t address it.

Among other things, the fight cost Disney control of the Reedy Creek Improvement District, which had been their self-licking ice cream cone for over 60 years. In 2023, Governor Ron DeSantis replaced the Disney-controlled Reedy Creek Improvement District with the CFTOD, a five-member board appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Senate to oversee land use and public services for Walt Disney World, and remove Disney’s self-governing power.

I can’t help but wonder how many millions of dollars Disney has cost itself…

The correspondents dinner apparently got a little ‘sporty’ last night…

The video of the perp rushing the magnetometer, gun drawn, and apparently shot a Secret Service agent on the way through.

Thankfully, nobody died, the perp was captured, and none of the administration or correspondents were hurt. Scared obviously, but not hurt.

So this now makes at least ‘three’ tries at the President now. It’s long past time for the Dems to stop playing games and get with the program to bring this country back together!

Always said coffee was ‘good’! It keeps people unstabbed. And now there is proof, but I’m still not drinking decaf or cold coffee…

The whole Southern Poverty Law Center kerfuffle is just getting MORE interesting!

A Grand Jury in Montgomery, Alabama, today returned an indictmentcharging the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) with 11 counts of wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering.  The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama Northern Division filed two forfeiture actions to recover alleged proceeds of the organization’s fraud scheme. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) investigated this case with assistance from the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI).

“The SPLC is manufacturing racism to justify its existence,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. “Using donor money to allegedly profit off Klansmen cannot go unchecked. This Department of Justice will hold the SPLC and every other fraudulent organization operating with the same deceptive playbook accountable. No entity is above the law.”

Of course the MSM and Dems are melting down, saying this is ‘weaponization’ of the DOJ, and none of the indictment specifications are true…

The CBS take, HERE, from ‘Kyle Boynton’ former federal prosecutors says the indictment is invalid…

Interestingly enough, Boynton apparently used to work in the Civil Rights Division of DOJ. Gee, I wonder what ‘he’ is trying to cover up from his previous employment? Or the directions he was given to ‘ignore’ certain things???

Most of us have been skeptical, to put it mildly, of the SPLC for a long time, mainly because they seemed to go after religious groups with an amazing amount of malice. And how groups that most of us thought were not terrorists seemed to end up on their radar with a regularity that was beyond belief.

This one is going to take a while to unravel, and it will be interesting to see how much pressure is going to come down from the left to hush everything up in a hurry. And I wonder how long it will even stay in the media…

Of course when the bean counters get involved, they always assume that everything is based on an 8 hour work day… sigh
