Or power play???

It appears the ‘swamp’ is on a rampage to ensure they never lose power again. Xiden is not in charge, honestly I wonder if he even knows what he’s doing half the time…

BUT, he’s ‘signed’ 38 executive orders, 13 presidential memoranda (which are de facto EOs without legal backing), 37 proclamations, and 10 notices.

He came out yesterday with this key statement: “But no amendment, no amendment to the Constitution is absolute.” In other words, he believes the Constitution that he swore to protect and defend can be changed at will.

And…the left if working to pack the court, article HERE. Do away with the filibuster in the Senate, and ram through HR-1/SR-1 (Crooked politicians act).

It is my ‘guess’, and I pray I’m wrong, that they are going to do their damndest to dismantle our current (flawed but currently controlled by the Constitution and Bill of Rights) form of government and install themselves as a one party system from 2022 on. They would also effectively take all forms of checks and balances between the three divisions of government away, leaving them to ram through anything they wanted, Constitution and Bill of Rights be damned…

And we’re seeing that play out in real time as the MSM, Big Tech, Universities, and others (BLM, SPLC, PP, etc.) drive what gets in the media or shared on social media. The dumbing down is coming too… Math and now English/writing are deemed to be white supremacy, therefore they must be ‘adjusted’ to allow ‘minority’ success…

Even as they plan to gut the military, force it to do CRT training, and take needed money away from maintenance to fund ‘incentives’ for others.

In their initial budget submission to Congress released Friday, White House officials said the compromise number will provide “resources to defend America and deter adversaries” while still allowing the federal government to better balance defense spending with other domestic priorities.

And lets not forget the ‘crisis’ on the border. 170,000 illegals last month, 19,000 of them ‘children’… $60Million/wk to care for/feed/house them. And no testing, pushing them into the economy, without even a reporting court date (as if they would show up anyway). If HR/SR-1 go through, that’s 151,000 ‘new’ democratic votes a month… That’s another 2,890,000 democratic votes next November…

Somebody please tell me I’m wrong… PLEASE…

After Xiden’s word salad announcements yesterday, and the announcement of the EXTREMELY anti-gun former agent David Chipman (who was part of the Branch Davidian scandal) as the new head of the AFT (like I said, word salad he ‘meant’ ATF), He went on to say this among other things…

“Nothing, nothing I’m about to recommend in any way impinges on the Second Amendment. They’re phony arguments suggesting that these are Second Amendment rights at stake for what we’re talking about,” he argued.

Then came the key statement: “But no amendment, no amendment to the Constitution is absolute.”

This is especially troubling in light of their ‘redefining’ the term infrastructure to mean whatever they deem appropriate to their cause (which apparently includes paying people not to work)… and a large percentage of the new ‘Infrastructure’ bill going to everything except what ‘we’ nominally consider infrastructure (like bridges, roads, etc.). Gillibrand (D. NY) had some doozies!!! Paid leave is infrastructure. Child care is infrastructure. Caregiving is infrastructure.

And interestingly there were THREE mass shootings in the last six days, one in Tuscaloosa, AL (apparently outside a bar, black on black, so no coverage), one in South Carolina, and one in Bryan, TX. And then there is the usual in Chicago, HERE.

Cars, trucks, and… A Land Rover…

Mid-1930s (I ‘think’ 1936) Chevy pickup, running an old school 327. Didn’t hear it run, but it looked GOOD!

The paint job was intriguing, almost a mix of patina and color that made you look twice at it.

And we saw this one in a parking lot at the restaurant. Lawdog had to look at it, mumbling something about “Memories, so many memories…” This one is a 94, TDi 100 Defender, RHD, probably ‘imported’ from England, by a USAF type based on the license plate surround.

It has obviously seen a lot of use, but it has also been well cared for. All of the pieces and parts are there, including the luggage rack and other parts built in London!

Like I said, right hand drive, 5 speed, and the obligatory fuzzy dice!!!

And last but certainly not least, 1968 Corvette. It looks all original, so I’m guessing probably a 327/300HP motor. It didn’t have either the front spring ‘droop’, nor any 427 badging.

And it was an automatic, so that leads to my 327/300 guess. The interior wasn’t perfect, nor was the paint, so again a guess that this is probably a 10-15 year old restoration, but one that was well done back on the day.

And it did have period correct rims on it, American Racing Torque Thrust mags from the 1960/70s. They were old school, with the engraved metal centers and old lettering.

Overall, a nice older car, obviously out for a Sunday drive! I hope they had a good day and enjoyed themselves!

Sooo, two Yemeni males on the terrorism watch list were arrested in California in January and March. It made conservative media, but the MSM ignored it. When there were questions raised about the arrests, a strange thing happened to the CPB notification-

U.S Border patrol revealed recently that they have arrested two men on the terrorist watch list as they tried to cross the southern border. Both men were from Yemen and the arrests were made in January and as recently as March 30th.

Now, that report has been ‘scrubbed’ from the CPB site-

Add this to the whole mess on the border and the LACK of transparency of this administration, and there are now a lot of questions being asked, quietly for now, but I’m thinking they’re going to get louder and louder. Harris has yet to hold a press conference, much less go to the border, even though she is ‘supposedly’ in charge of fixing that mess.

This makes me think they literally have NO idea how to fix the monstrosity that they have created. Apparently 40% of current CBP man hours are being used just to ‘process’ all the border crossers… sigh…

It’s pretty bad when CNN actually has to do a ‘positive’ piece on a Pub…

As part of a larger story about Florida’s vaccine rollout, the renowned newsmagazine program spotlighted a recent $100,000 donation that Publix made to DeSantis’ re-election bid.
The story, by correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi, suggested there was a possible link between the donation and the state’s partnership with Publix stores for vaccine distribution — a serious issue of foul play, if true.

If anyone had any doubts about the veracity of 60 minutes being ‘fair and balanced’, this should make it obvious they, like the rest of the MSM are in the tank for the dems.
But I can’t help but wonder if this is just a way to try to ‘redirect’ the ire away from the administration after the crisis on the border (which isn’t going away and coverage is ramping up), or the idiocy of moving the All Star game from Atlanta.
The stupidest thing I’ve heard was a call to ‘move’ the Masters… sigh…
Obviously the left doesn’t have a clue, and Augusta would have their tournament with or without the PGA,  and I would bet 99% of the invitees would show up anyway.
Also, I noticed that the Women’s Amateur played at Augusta this past weekend got NO coverage whatsoever… Only one channel covered it, and it was won by a 17 year old Japanese girl Tsubasa Kajitani, and EIGHT countries had representatives in the top 10. Talk about empowering young women world-wide!!!

Golfers Creed

Don’t buy a putter until you’ve had a chance to throw it.

One of my personal favorites:
There are two things you can learn by stopping your back-swing at the
top and checking the position of your hands: how many hands you have,
and which one is wearing the glove.

If there is a ball on the fringe and a ball in the bunker, your ball is
in the bunker. If both balls are in the bunker, yours is in the

A good drive on the 18th hole has stopped many a golfer from giving up
the game.

Golf is the perfect thing to do on Sunday because you always end up
having to pray a lot.

A good golf partner is one who’s always slightly worse than you
are….that’s why I get so many calls to play with friends.

If there’s a storm rolling in, you’ll be having the game of your life.

Golf balls are like eggs. They’re white. They’re sold by the dozen. And
you need to buy fresh ones each week.

It’s amazing how a golfer who never helps out around the house will
replace his divots, repair his ball marks, and rake his sand traps.

If your opponent has trouble remembering whether he shot a six or a
seven, he probably shot an eight (or worse).

It takes longer to learn to be a good golfer than it does to become a
brain surgeon. On the other hand, you don’t get to ride around on a cart,
drink beer, eat hot dogs and fart if you are performing Brain
Surgery!!!!

THE EASTER LILY HOLIDAY TRADITION

Each holiday is marked by cherished traditions that bring joy, comfort, and warmth, and provide continuity from one generation to the next. Easter has its share of traditions: egg decorations and hunts; gift baskets and chocolate bunnies, sunrise church services, parades, and, of course, the Easter Lily. For many, the beautiful trumpet-shaped white flowers symbolize purity, virtue, innocence, hope and life – the spiritual essence of Easter.

History, mythology, literature, poetry and the world of art are rife with stories and images that speak of the beauty and majesty of the elegant white flowers. Dating back to Biblical lore, the lily is mentioned numerous times in the Bible. One of the most famous Biblical references is in the Sermon on the Mount, when Christ told his listeners: “Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin; and yet….. Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”

Often called the “white-robed apostles of hope,” lilies were found growing in the Garden of Gethsemane after Christ’s agony. Tradition has it that the beautiful white lilies sprung up where drops of Christ’s sweat fell to the ground in his final hours of sorrow and deep distress. Churches continue this tradition at Easter time by banking their alters and surrounding their crosses with masses of Easter Lilies, to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and hope of life everlasting.

Since the beginning of time, lilies have played significant roles in allegorical tales concerning the sacrament of motherhood. Ancient fables tell us the lily sprang from the milk of Hera, the mythological Queen of Heaven.

The pure white lily has long been closely associated with the Virgin Mary. In early paintings, the Angel Gabriel is pictured extending to the Virgin Mary a branch of pure white lilies, announcing that she is to be the mother of the Christ Child. In other paintings, saints are pictured bringing vases full of white lilies to Mary and the infant Jesus.

The legend is told that when the Virgin Mary’s tomb was visited three days after her burial, it was found empty save for bunches of majestic white lilies. Early writers and artists made the lily the emblem of the Annunciation, the Resurrection of the Virgin: the pure white petals signifying her spotless body and the golden anthers her soul glowing with heavenly light.

It seems the thirteenth-century Barthololmeus Anglicus had this in mind when he wrote: ‘The Lily is an herbe with a white flower; and though the leaves of the floure be white, yet within shineth the likeness of gold.” So goes the saying, ‘To gild a lily is to attempt, foolishly, to improve on perfection.” To many artists and poets it seemed that, if any flower could have one, the lily had a soul.

In yet another expression of womanhood, lilies had a significant presence in the paradise of Adam and Eve. Tradition has it that when Eve left the Garden of Eden she shed real tears of repentance, and from those remorseful tears sprung up lilies. The spiritual principle held here is that true repentance is the beginning of beauty.

A mark of purity and grace throughout the ages, the regal white lily is a fitting symbol of the greater meaning of Easter. Gracing millions of homes and churches, the flowers embody joy, hope and life. Whether given as a gift or enjoyed in your own home, the Easter Lily serves as a beautiful reminder that Easter is a time for rejoicing and celebrating.

Ironically, the white (Easter) lily is a native plant of Southern Japan…

Is getting stronger…

What happened to the hue and cry over the shootings in Boulder, CO???

Turns out the shooter destroyed the left’s narrative… He was Syrian, proposed a Jihad, and BookFace immediately pulled his profile. AND he was on an FBI watchlist… And one other inconvenient point, he drove a half hour to shoot up a King Sooper in a Jewish section of town…

Yesterday, there was an ‘incident’ at the Capital. Turns out rather than a deranged white Pub, the ‘subject’ was a young black follower of Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam that killed one of the Capital Police. Article, HERE.

Oh, and BookFace also immediately yanked HIS profile…

The hoorah over the GA election law passed has gotten almost comical with the mis-statements, outright lies, and the various charges/counter charges… The latest is Delta coming out against the law NOW, but they were for it before they were against it, HERE.  And the GA House passed a bill to take away their tax break on fuel… LOL

The other stupid move is by MLB, but I repeat myself. They’ve decided to pull the All-Star game from Atlanta in ‘response’ to the new election laws…

Following the prodding by President Biden, Major League Baseball made the announcement Friday afternoon that it is taking punitive action against the state of Georgia and the citizens of Atlanta. Commissioner Robert Manfred released a statement that the League has decided to pull this year’s All-Star Game, as well as the MLB amateur draft out of the state.

Another one is the whole kerfuffle coming from the left about assigning ‘sex’ to a child at birth… Really? If there is a penis, it’s a boy, if there is a vulva, it’s a girl… sigh

“Sex assigned at birth” refers to the label a medical professional gives to a baby when it is born. A medical professional may say a baby is male, female or intersex, depending on what the medical professional observes about the baby’s body. For example, a baby with a vulva will be labeled a girl, and a baby with a penis will be labeled a boy. Some babies may have bodies or chromosomes that don’t fit the typical categories of male or female. A medical professional may label them as intersex. Sex assigned at birth is about how someone else sees our bodies and does not take into consideration how we feel inside.

Got my second Wuflu shot yesterday (Moderna), and the ‘symptoms’ are much milder than the first go around…

Got the stiff arm from the shot, and a headache, but not much else.

We got in a rather interesting discussion in the VA Clinic while we were sitting around waiting to see if anybody was going to fall over. It was a mixed bag of folks, every service except the Coasties again, and all ethnicities represented.

The discussion centered around ‘fairness and racism’ reporting in the media. The consensus was that just about everything now has some kind of ‘racism’ attached to it, either as part of the story itself, or insinuated by the talking heads. And that led to a discussion about how ‘fair’ the reporting was. A couple of Vietnam Vets kinda went off on that, going back to the reporting about baby killers, etc. when they came back from Nam, and most of us could point to similar stories during our times. There was a digression into the counter reporting of police actions vs. Pantifa, and how they are not reporting looting, and when it gets mentioned, they immediately decry the assertion, saying that, guess what, that’s ‘racist’. There was also sad laughter about the whole defund the police movements and what is happening in those cities (which is not being reported). But the real invective was saved for the Capitol and NG troops STILL sitting there. As I was leaving the below got brought up as an example of the bias/leanings/actions of the talking heads…

“I think it’s become clear that fairness is overrated … the idea that we should always give two sides equal weight and merit does not reflect the world we find ourselves in,” he said, asking viewers to let him explain further before “tweeting that headline.”

Sigh… I REALLY miss my 66 Goat…

Back in the day, you could get ‘good’ ads from the magazines and actually get posters from the auto manufacturers themselves…

Why this for a throwback, you ask…

Because I saw one yesterday going the opposite direction on the highway. I ‘almost’ turned around and chased it down, except for the ‘safety cables’ they have in the medians now… sigh
