Funnies…

These came across the transom from the mil email net…

And ‘somebody’ has been locked down WAY too long…

Everyone PLEASE be careful because people are going crazy from being locked down at  home!

I was just talking about this with the microwave and the toaster while drinking my Pepsi, and we  all agreed that things are getting bad.

I didn’t mention any of this to the washing machine because she puts a different spin on EVERYTHING!! Certainly couldn’t share with the fridge, cause he’s been acting cold and distant! ln the end, the iron straightened me out! She said the situation isn’t all that pressing and all the wrinkles will soon get ironed out!

The vacuum, however, was very unsympathetic … told me to just suck it up! But the fan was VERY optimistic and gave me hope that it will all blow over soon!

The toilet looked a bit flushed but didn’t say anything when I asked its opinion, but the front door said I was becoming unhinged, and the doorknob told me to get a grip!! You can just about guess what the curtains told me: they told me to pull myself together!”

We will survive!!

Well…

We’re now a week into the flustercluck that is Kabul…

Ramirez nailed it, as always…

Still no idea how many Americans have actually gotten out, there are reports that Americans are being beaten, Afghani supporters being shot, and the embassy issued ‘warnings’ to Americans to NOT come to the airport. But according to Xiden, “Nothing is wrong, everything is on track.”

Just for reference, in two days August 29-30, 1975, the US Marines and Air America pulled over 7000 people out of the embassy in Saigon with NO loss of life, and made numerous pickups out in town, including the infamous picture of the Huey on the rooftop of a secondary pickup site.

Meanwhile…

Fed up, disappointed, angry, (and I’m being polite)…

It is also absolutely ABSURD to not be coordinating with other boots on the ground in Kabul including the Brits, Germans, Poles, French, and others. Is Xiden really that stupid, or is this Austin’s or Milley’s doing???

Enough…

With the Debbie Downer crap… What will be, will be. Ain’t a damn thing we can do about it until next year…

So…

Southern Ladies

Two ladies happened to start up a conversation during an endless wait in the LAX airport.

The first lady was an arrogant California woman married to a wealthy man.

The second was a well mannered elderly woman from the South.

When the conversation centered on whether they had any children, the California woman started by saying, “When my first child was born, my husband built a beautiful mansion for me.”

The lady from the South commented, “Well, isn’t that precious?”

The first woman continued, “When my second child was born, my husband bought me a beautiful Mercedes-Benz.

Again, the lady from the South commented, “Well, isn’t that precious?”

The first woman continued boasting, “Then, when my third child was born, my husband bought me this exquisite diamond bracelet.

Yet again, the Southern lady commented, “Well, isn’t that precious?”

The first woman then asked her companion, “What did your husband buy for you when you had your first child?”

“My husband sent me to charm school,” declared the Southern lady.

“Charm school?” the first woman cried, “Oh, my God! What on earth for?”

The Southern lady responded, “Well for example, instead of saying “Who gives a s**t?” I learned to say, “Well, isn’t that precious?”

A man owned a small ranch near San Antonio . The Texas labour Department

got a tip that he was not paying proper wages to his help and sent an
investigator out to interview him.

“I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them,” demanded
the investigator.

“Well,” replied the rancher, “there’s my ranch hand who’s been with me
for 3 years. I pay him $1200 a week plus free room and board.

“The cook has been here for 18 months, and I pay her $1000 per week plus
free room and board.

“Then there’s the half-wit. He works about 18 hours every day and does
about 90% of all the work around here. He makes about $10 per week, pays his own room and board.

But, I buy him a bottle of bourbon every Saturday night, and he also sleeps
with my wife occasionally.”

“That’s the guy I want to talk to … the half-wit,” says the investigator.

“That would be me,” replied the rancher.

Gah…

Austin and Milley finally stuck their heads out in a joint presser.

Austin flatly stated there is NO plan to send forces out to retrieve people. He obfuscated and hemmed and hawed, about ‘coordination’ with unspecified people.

Milley refused to answer, saying he was not going to divulge operational plans.

When pushed, he added “That is a State Department function. We have a ‘capability’ and will execute however directed.”

Austin then muddied the waters by saying there was no capability to go collect ‘large numbers’ (undefined) of people.

Meanwhile, the Brit SAS folks are going out in town and ‘collecting’ their folks…

Austin was then pushed on his answer and said, “That is a State Department function. We will ‘facilitate’ the entry points 24/7.”

When asked about the missing weapons, neither would own up to that either, or the issue of closing Bagram before the civilians were evacuated!

And more interesting, when asked then pressed about the ‘timeline’ of failure, neither would say anything about what the ‘military’ thought.

Milley said, “There was nothing, that I or anybody else saw that indicated a collapse of this army and this government in 11 days,” Bulls**t! They had the Lead Inspector General report on Operation Freedom’s Sentinel (OFS) in hand, and it spelled things out!!!

Talk about dereliction of duty, and leaving US citizens and others in the lurch! Damn… They should resign IF they had any honor… but they don’t…

And what did Xiden do yesterday? Snuck in, gave a presser on the WuFlu update, and bolted again without answering a single question! HE should also resign, if he had an ounce of honor, but we know he doesn’t…

Well, well, well…

Funny how the CYA is in FULL force today…

This Lead Inspector General (Lead IG) report on Operation Freedom’s Sentinel (OFS) summarizes historical oversight activities from April 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021, and provides background about events leading up to recent, significant and fast moving developments in Afghanistan. Future Lead IG quarterly reports will further highlight these and other developments in Afghanistan.

Complete report HERE, .pdf at the bottom of the page.

Note that it was released publically yesterday… Strange, that…

And in other news, now we know where those 5 Taliban that Obummer traded for Bergdahl went… They showed up in Kabul as the ‘leaders’ of the Taliban, and apparently one of them was the ‘negotiator’ that US officials were speaking with in Switzerland!

This is just getting weirder and weirder… It’s almost to the point that I’m beginning to wonder if this was malicious incompetence on the administration, State, and DOD’s part!

Oh, and last but not least, apparently DOD has absolutely NO idea how much ‘stuff’ the Taliban now has in the way of weapons, technology, etc! Unfrikkenbelievable!!!

And Baghdad Bob Kirby had this exchange on getting the US people out-

“From a military perspective our focus is at the airport,” Kirby said. “Right now though I don’t want to set the expectation that we are equipped and able to go out into the countryside and physically move people into Kabul. Our focus right now, the troops that we have there, are at the airport. The idea is that we can get the air operations, not only have they resumed, but to keep them in place for as long as possible.”

Berman then pointed out the obvious: “If they can’t get to the airport what does it matter if you have the capabilities to get them out from the airport?”

Kirby had no answer for Berman—only acknowledging the security situation is “not ideal.”

Grrr…

Taliban and al Qaeda are declaring victory over the US, as expected. And it’s playing well with their minions around the world…
Kabul airport was closed most of yesterday due to being overrun… People have been shot, and according to reports one or two have fallen from C-17s as they took off. Photos indicate the Afghans are doing their usual, pushing women and children to the front, Marines order them to stop, they squat, and the men break around them and penetrate the perimeter. That tells me the ROE is VERY restrictive…
Depending on whom you believe, as few as 100 Americans or up to 400 have been flown out. No indication that anyone has gone into town to recover those who were told to shelter in place, and apparently no attempt to bring out any of the Afghans that worked for the embassy, especially the females. Taliban are, according to boots on the ground, going door to door looking for those interpreters/embassy workers.
Oh, and the Russian and Chinese embassies? Open with NO issues. What a surprise!
Biden, Harris, Blinken, Austin, Milly, this blood will be on YOUR hands. You had 7 months to plan and coordinate a SAFE withdrawal… Shows how much you care about your people and our military…
All I can do is to say a prayer for those who are being left behind. Hopefully your death will be quick and you won’t be raped…

Xiden gave a ‘defensive’ press conference yesterday afternoon, trotted out the old saw from Harry Truman of the “Buck Stops Here”, but only after he blamed everybody and everything including Trump and his ‘rushed’ plan that had ‘boxed him in’… That was in addition to lying mis-speaking about facts (as usual)…

He then went on to say that the US ‘would’ strike at terrorists “over the horizon”… whatever that means, since we’ll have NO assets to actually track al Qaeda that are active in at least 10 provinces in Afghanistan TODAY!

Article HERE, HERE, and HERE.

And did you see the DOD presser? When asked, they have NO idea where the weapons, etc. are… And no plan to go get the people that are ‘sheltering in place’… Oh, and apparently lied about how many troops were there last week, saying they were ‘just today’ at 2500 troops on the ground…

And Baghdad Bob Kirby did his usual song and dance that the Pentagon WAS NOT at fault…  Article HERE.  Yeah, right…

And in the true irony of ironies…

So we got Saigon 1975, except with a the same BUNO 154038 Phrog, even though they put a new N number on it, and flown out of the compound rather than off the roof. And as one vet said, “No jungle this time!”

So… What is going to happen on 9/11 THIS year???

Automotive finds…

Old school muscle…

74 Formula 400, fully built, short throw 4spd, disk brake and suspension upgrade. Didn’t hear it run, but obviously a LOT of work went into it… And a lot of folks stopped to look at it!

And just plain old school…

67 C-10, original owner still driving it. It’s had two paint jobs, but this is the original color. He admitted he did ‘upgrade’ the drivetrain to a 327 and a Powerglide. It’s got a few spots  he is cleaning up before he sends it to the paint shop, and a wiring issue with the @#$%% side lights (as he said). Oh, and disk brakes…

He shrugged and admitted it was a ‘little warm’ to drive in the summer, since it didn’t have AC, and he has a ‘new’ GMC as a daily driver… 🙂

And then there was this…

They are making no bones about where they stand! I just hope they never drive it in Dallas, Austin, or Houston…

Wow…

Thanks to reader John S for pointing me to this one…

The Army National Guard is actively recruiting for a job position called “Internment/Resettlement Specialist.” People as young as seventeen years old are eligible for the gig, which includes “Search/Restraint” as “Some of the Skills You’ll Learn,” according to an Army National Guard job posting with a job location listed as Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, military documents show that the military can detain civilians here in America, including U.S. citizens. A leaked U.S. Headquarters of the Army document entitled “INTERNMENT AND RESETTLEMENT OPERATIONS” describes an official category of detained person called “civilian internee.” A Department of Defense Directive published below discussed “civilian internees” and made it clear that military detainees can be U.S. citizens.

Full article, HERE.

HERE is the actual announcement…

And there really IS an Army manual on Internment… Issued in 2010… Note the distribution!

It’s stuff like this that just makes you wonder about the ‘real’ intentions of the left…

Which one will we see…

In Kabul next week??? They have already been directed to destroy all ‘sensitive’ documents and computers…

I had a conversation the other night with a former Army guy who’d done a couple of tours… Apologies for the language…

Yes, I remember both Vietnam, I was flying out of Cubi during the fall of Vietnam, and participated in both Frequent Wind, and Eagle Pull. Also the little op known as the Mayaguez rescue. Our crew took this picture when we found the MV Mayaguez, although the Air Force took the credit since they ‘processed’ the film at Utapao… (which STILL pisses me off)…

Yes, those are two Swift boats tied up alongside the Mayaguez, but they were crewed by Khmer Rouge, and shot at us every time we flew by (thankfully they were lousy shots).

I also knew folks that were involved in the attempted hostage rescue in Tehran in 1979 that failed…

The one thing that kept running through my mind yesterday was- “Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.” Granted I’ve been retired for 29 years, but I still lay the blame for the clusterf**k now going on in Afghanistan directly at the feet of Xiden and SECDEF Austin.

Their ‘scramble’ to get out has been mismanaged from the get go, sneaking out in the dark of night after they turned off the lights at Bagram??? Really??? WTF happened to actually COORDINATING the turnover, knowing we’d still need a base to operate from if/when things went south? And the constant downplaying of the Taliban… Junior Varsity? Really??? “Oh, they won’t actually try to control the country, they don’t have that capability.”

Have anyone looked at a @#%$$ tactical map of Afghanistan lately? The ‘JV’ controls over 75% of the country!

And it’s obvious the Pentagon has its head up its ass, more concerned with ‘domestic terrorists’ and CRT than actually protecting its personnel. Kirby, who I think of now as ‘Baghdad Bob’ Kirby gave a disjointed confusing press conference about how the Puzzle Palace was ‘working the issues’ and believed that ‘negotiations’ would get everything resolved… Yeah, right, pull the other one, it has bells on it… There are contingency plans already worked out, you pull them out and say “Go!”…

Which drives me back to which one of the first two pictures will be the news lead next week…

Meanwhile, Xiden is nowhere to be found, either hiding in Delaware or at Camp David and Austin is throwing Kirby to the wolves…

At least, unlike the reception ‘we’ received when we came back, we made sure the GWOT kids GOT a real welcome home. But what will the administration say to those gold star families and those who came back with PTSD, missing limbs, and chronic injuries that they may or may not be getting treatment for? Or those who’ve lost veterans to suicide (20+ a day)…

Gah, I’m gonna shut up now, so I can go find my BP meds…
