Status on TGM- Sunset paperback…

Grrr… Been dealing with Amazon all week on this, nitpicks one after another. I had HOPED to have it up by Thursday, but obviously that didn’t happen. I think/hope it will be up today. If so, I will update the blog as soon as I get notified. But I DO have a picture…

Edit!!! It’s LIVE, finally. Click on the cover below for the link

If nothing else, look under my Amazon author page, HERE.

If you want to order a signed copy, it will be $17. Email me at my contact link on the blog here. I probably will NOT be able to get copies prior to Christmas (y’all can actually get them quicker than I can), but I will put an order in as soon as I get the okay to publish. I would guesstimate than the earliest I can probably get you a copy is the first week of January at the earliest.

Also, the sale on other books in the series ends today.

In other news, sales are going well, and so far nobody has threatened to shoot me over the ending… Yet… 🙂

Book promos…

First up is Tom Rogneby with a new adventure in the Boogeyman series- A Woman Scorned

As always, click on the cover for the link to Amazon!

The blurb-

Never cheat on a succubus.

Martin Shelby’s latest client is a woman out to hurt her husband where it matters most to him – his pride. She’s teamed with the best lawyer in town, and The Boogeyman is out to find the evidence to turn her shark loose in divorce court.

But indulging a taste for younger women isn’t the only shady thing her husband’s been up to, and the blood in the water is all too real as the body count starts mounting…

I beta read this, and it’s a nice and quirky little story! 🙂

Next up is Laura Montgomery’s second book in her Martha’s Sons series- Long in the Land

The blurb-

A lost starship.

A lost colony.

A man on the run.

Peter Dawe shares the same horizons as the rest of the stranded starship’s offspring. First Landing shelters them from the worst aspects of the planet, but it doesn’t shelter them from each other.

Sure, Peter was recovering stolen property, but the colony’s governor doesn’t see it that way, and Peter faces a stark choice. He can stay on the farm and bring the governor’s wrath down on his family, or he can run.

He wants to stay and fight, but the day an aircraft—a machine not seen for decades—appears in the sky, everything changes.

And the person hunting the aircraft also hunts for Peter.

Next is CV Walter, with a new paranormal romance in her series- Hunting Red

The blurb-

Jason always wanted to be a detective. When he was medically retired after an accident following a high speed chase, he started the Guard Dogs, a motorcycle club that saves and protects missing and abused children. When one of the kids goes missing hours before they’re going to rescue them, the trail leads him on a chase through a world he’d never dreamed existed.

Red’s life has become an urban legend and she’s rather proud of that fact. The stories told in the dark of the night help her on her mission to save the children who have been chosen by the Folk to become Wolves. A curse that was cast before written memory has become a weapon and she’s working against the clock to keep them from using it against humanity. When Jason’s investigation gets in her way, she can either take him out or ask for his help.

And last but certainly not least, the third in the book in the Phases of Mars from Chris Kennedy- Trouble in the Wind

The blurb-

Throughout the human experience, historians have wondered, “What if?” What if Sherman had fought for the South in the U.S. Civil War? What if Germany had fought to the end in World War I? What if World War III had actually happened?

Wonder no more, for these questions, along with many others, are answered within the pages of this book. Told by a variety of award-winning authors, like Sarah Hoyt and Kevin J. Anderson, the 2018 Dragon Award Winners for Alternate History, S.M. Stirling, the 2019 Dragon Award Winner for Alternate History, David Weber, a three-time Dragon Award Winner for Best Military Science Fiction, and Brad R. Torgersen, the winner of the 2019 Dragon Award for Best Science Fiction, “Trouble in the Wind,” deals with ground combat that never happened in our world…but easily could have.

The third book in the exciting “Phases of Mars” anthology series, there is something for everyone inside! From fighting Hannibal at the Battle of Cannae, to the early death of Napoleon, to scouting the bush in Angola, “Trouble in the Wind” traces a history of ground warfare…that wasn’t. From warfare in Taylor Anderson’s “The Destroyermen” series…to S.M. Stirling’s “Black Chamber,” this book has it, so come aboard and find out “what if” all of these things had changed history…just a little. You’ll be glad you did!

Inside you’ll find:
The Sting of Fate by William Alan Webb
To Save the Republic by Sarah A. Hoyt
Here Must We Hold by Rob Howell
The Heretic by Monalisa Foster
Secondhand Empires by Brad R. Torgersen
A Shot Heard ‘Round the World by Kevin J. Anderson & Kevin Ikenberry

Soldiers of the Republic by Justin Watson
Unintended Consequences by Peter Grant
Nemo Me Impune Lacessit by Jan Niemczyk

YGTBSM…

Welp, the OIG report is out. You can go HERE and download a copy if you’re really bored…

Some takeaways from the executive summary…

Counterintelligence Division (CD) Assistant Director (AD) E.W. “Bill” Priestap was a major player at the start.

Priestap stated that he considered whether the FBI should conduct defensive briefings for the Trump campaign but ultimately decided that providing such briefings created the risk that “if someone on the campaign was engaged with the Russians, he/she would very likely change his/her tactics and/or otherwise seek to cover-up his/ her activities, thereby preventing us from finding the truth.”

So instead of a defensive briefing, they sent an agent who was ‘fishing’ for a Russian connection, without ever telling Trump anything, but Hillary got the full defensive briefing AND support. Interesting…

In this review, we found that, while Lisa Page attended some of the discussions regarding the opening of the investigat ions, she did not play a role in the decision to open Crossfire Hurricane or the four individual cases. We further found that while Strzok was directly involved in the decisions to open Crossfire Hurricane and the four individual cases, he was not the sole, or even the highest-level, decision maker as to any of those matters. As noted above, then CD AD Priestap, Strzok’s supervisor, was the official who ultimately made the decision to open the investigation, and evidence reflected that this decision by Priestap was reached by consensus after multiple days of discussions and meetings that included Strzok and other leadership in CD, the FBI Deputy Director, the FBI General Counsel, and a FBI Deputy General Counsel.

We concluded that Priestap’s exercise of discretion in opening the investigation was in compliance with Department and FBI policies, and we did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced his decision.

Really???

And on and on and on… 51 violations in procedure, 9 false statements, 17 serious acts of misconduct (called ‘errors’), and four essentially human sources used to penetrate the [Trump] campaign were found by the OIG, and if you know anything about statistics, or even simple math, you’d ‘think’ that errors ‘should’ go both ways, right? In this case, not so much. EVERY error went against the Trump campaign or the person in question…

After reading this, I needed a long hot shower the get the filth off me…

In other ‘funny’ news, Lisa Page (Strock’s lover) is now suing the FBI and DOJ for ‘releasing’ private documents!!!

Former FBI lawyer Lisa Page sued the agency and US Department of Justice on Tuesday for allegedly illegally releasing private documents involving her to the press — namely, hundreds of text messages between her and her special-agent boyfriend.

Full article, HERE.

Sorry Toots, when you use a government device to text with your lover, that’s NOT private it’s government property and they can do what they will with it. Good luck with that lawsuit. Hope it runs you out of money, like what you did to Page, Flynn, and others!

And here is Barr’s interview about what ‘he’ thinks about the OIG investigation. It’s 24 minutes, but it does give some clues as to where Durham may be looking…

Things are getting interesting…

In Virginia, among other places…

Tazwell county, in addition to passing their Second Amendment Sanctuary Resolution, the county also passed a Militia Resolution. This resolution formalizes the creation, and maintenance of a defacto civilian militia in the county of Tazewell.

Full article, HERE.

And then there is this-

Virginia sheriff has vowed to deputize residents in his county if the new Democratic-led legislature enacts gun control measures.

Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins made the vow during a Board of Supervisors meeting last week in which the panel unanimously agreed to declare the county a Second Amendment Constitutional County.

Full article, HERE.

And a friend posted this in one of our chats, and I think it is dead on the money, not only for Virginia, but for the US in general, considering the ‘articles of impeachment’ dropped today…

Bold is mine.

The Progressive left–at least for the moment–espouses majority rule and a living constitution that says what they want it to say.

They have forgotten or never understood the term “Tyranny of the Majority.”  Worse, they never recognized that we are a heterogeneous population that, as a result of the Great Compromise of 1788, instituted via the Senate, the Electoral College, and the Constitutional Amendment process, a government of Minority Consent that requires super-majority support on resolving significant issues.

Twice this nation has tried simple majority rule with disastrous consequences.  The first time was actions in the 1840’s and 50’s that led to the Civil War and 600,000 casualties.  The second time was the cultural revolution sparked by opposition to LBJ’s prosecution of the Vietnam War supported by a simple ~52% majority.  It took the South a 100 years to recover economically, and we are still awash in repercussions from 1960’s rebellious activities that, for example, led to the Progressive Left taking control of the Democrat Party, Universities, and the MSM.

I just read the Articles of Impeachment: flowery language from the Constitution quoting the right of the House to impeach and the list of impeachable offenses.  But the logical connection of Trump’s activities to the impeachable offenses is accomplished only through sleight of hand at best and abuse of House power at worst.  They have not established that Trump took bribes.  They ignored multiple instances of former Presidents pressuring foreign governments for political advantage here at home.  And as for ignoring House subpoenas, the Congress and the President are two coequal branches of government.  Without a court order–third branch intervention–the House is exceeding its Constitutional authority in attempting to subordinate the President to its authority.  The Federalist Papers make it clear that a parliamentary system was rejected.

The Progressive left in ignoring ex post facto laws, in redefining words and phrases in the Constitution, and in conducting a sham impeachment is challenging the right for unprecedented political dominance.  Unfortunately, they have deluded themselves that the Right will only grumble before capitulating.  Just as things simmered politically in the 1840’s/50’s, things are simmering now.  This is evidenced among other things by the emergence of Fox News, of Conservative Think Tanks, and the current political polarization.  It will get worse if the left does not exercise restraint and self-control.

Soap box, ballot box, and we’re down to the bullet box the way things are going… sigh…

Sound familiar???

I got nothing, so you get humor… Or at least ‘some’ people think it’s humor… According to some of the admins I know, this is pretty much FACT… LOL

The Grey Man- Sunset…

Is alive!!!

Clicky the cover to get the link!

The blurb-

Whoever said retirement was quiet never met John Cronin…

The old man may have retired for the final time from the Sheriff’s office, but there are still cows to run, court cases to testify at, and consultation calls to tap decades of experience. And that’s not even counting the cold cases he’s still trying to solve…

With his granddaughter Jesse running the gun store and managing the ranch books, and her husband leaning how to fill Cronin’s shoes on investigations and arrests, John is keeping busy training the next generation, while settling a few old scores!

Also, all the other novels and novellas in the series are on sale through next Saturday, and can be found on my author page, HERE!!!

I would like to thank all of you that have hung with me through this series, and I truly appreciated all the comments I’ve received from y’all!

And one last thing- Honest reviews please. Us poor starving writers live and die by reviews, and the goals are 50 and 100 reviews, those help us get free marketing from Amazon!

It’s a book!!!

Almost…

Hopefully, the Kindle will be up tomorrow, but the paperback will have to wait until we get the proof copies back.

As always, Tina did a super job on the cover!!!

Back in battery…

And sleeping in my own bed! PP is doing better, kids are better (but wired on meds)…

Tried to get them to ‘pose’ with Papa before I left…

The dogs didn’t think much of their antics either!

But they finally decided to ‘cooperate’ for versions of kids cooperating… LOL

And the dogs just flopped and ignored all of us.

It was only a matter of time…

The first ‘confirmed’ Narco-Sub (technically not a submarine, as it can’t submerge, it is a low profile vehicle) has been spotted in Europe.

Atlantic drug submarine

At dawn on Sunday, Spanish police descended on a picturesque bay just north of Vigo, on Spain’s Atlantic coast. The so-called narco-submarine, used for smuggling cocaine, was being abandoned by its crew. They appear to have scuttled it to hide the evidence. Two were arrested and a third suspect was reported to be on the run.

Full article, HERE.

This story is well done, and goes into some of the background of previous ‘finds’ in South America. I know at one time, a number of years ago, there was at least one attempt by the cartels to buy a working submarine from a foreign entity. And they smaller LPVs have been run out of both the Atlantic and Pacific sides of South America at least for 15-20 years. Before, it was sailboats with masts removed, superstructures shaved, and painted blue to match the color of the water.

Who knows how many of these have already gotten through. How many have already made it to Europe?

Lives and drugs are cheap to the Cartels. How many did they send before one made it???

TBT…

A couple of  ‘torture’ implements for those old farts out there…

Bonus points if you remember the shift pattern… LOL

And something ‘some’ of us grew up with…

And yes, it still works! Son-in-law uses it in the very small front yard.
