The left/dems are totally losing their s**t over guns…

Democrat Representative David Cicilline of Rhode Island said a bit of the anti-gun left’s quiet part out loud in a House hearing on Thursday when he went on a rant against the constitutionally protected rights of the American people.

So he flat out says he doesn’t care about Constitutional rights…

And they want to take our guns. Specifically semi-auto rifles (and semi-auto pistols) and standard capacity magazines.

Let’s start with AR-15s- Estimates are there are 15-20 MILLION ARs in the US. Now lets add 5 magazines per rifle (may be a low estimate). That is 100 MILLION magazines, and most people have enough ammo to fill the magazines, so that is 3 BILLION rounds of .223/5.56 ammo.

Let’s say there are 500,000 AKs, 50,000 SCARs (16 and 17), and 50,000 ‘other’ bullpups, etc. each with 5 magazines. That’s another 3 MILLION magazines and 60 MILLION additional rounds of ammunition.

Now let’s talk pistols… Nothing I can find gives us any hard numbers, so these are cumulative guesses, FWIW.

Glocks- Around 8 MILLION in the US since 1988. Each with 5 magazines, and 17 rounds.  Add in another 2 MILLION CZs, BHPs, Berettas, S&W, etc. with 5 magazines and 13 round magazines. Total all that up, and you’re looking at another 810 MILLION rounds of ammo.

Soooo… They are talking about taking in the neighborhood of 30.6 million guns, 153 million magazines, and something around 4 billion rounds of ammo away from Americans.

Seeing how well CT and NY have done with their ‘mandatory’ compliance rules for ARs, IMHO, they will play holy hell trying to do that in any way shape form or fashion.

I don’t think they could come up with the money, or the facilities to do buybacks (and watch them go right back out the back door (in certain agencies). Nor do I see them finding anybody that would volunteer to go door to door to collect them (including from the very LEOs supposed to be enforcing the rule). The military? I don’t know…

From yesterday’s meetings on the hill.

Congressman Mondaire Jones (D-NY) warned law-abiding gun owners that Democrats will do everything in their power to ensure AR-15s and similar types of firearms are confiscated during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday.

The hearing was to consider H.R. 7910, the “Protecting Our Kids Act,” which would raise the legal age to purchase “certain semiautomatic centerfire rifles or semiautomatic centerfire shotguns” from 18 to 21 with “exceptions.” The bill will also “modernize the prohibition on untraceable firearms [and] encourage the safe storage of firearms.”

According to him, ‘nothing’ is off the table to get the bill rammed through. And he said ALL semi-automatics were assault weapons that held more than a minimum number of rounds should be banned. When asked if that included pistols, he waffled… which means yes, Glocks will be illegal too, since according to him, they are ‘assault’ weapons, along with BHPs, CZs, S&Ws, etc.

Xiden, last night, said the 2nd Amendment is NOT absolute. removing protection from gun manufacturers for lawsuits and more. He pushed red flag laws, raising the age to purchase to 21, etc. and DO SOMETHING! If you want to do that, let’s make EVERYTHING 21. Voting, gender surgery, abortion, everything. Consistency should be required, not just a goal for ‘one’ item.

I believe the dems are sure they are going to lose in Nov, not able to beat the margin of cheat, and are going to slam through everything they can as quickly as they can. Otherwise, I don’t believe they would be jumping up and down on the third rail of politics (guns), and ignoring inflation, the food issues, and the price of gas, goods, and services.

In other news, gas is over $8/gal some places in California, approaching $6/gal in the Chicago area, and premium was at $5/gal in north Texas yesterday. I did notice more people open carrying yesterday, and more people paying more attention to their surroundings. Obviously SA is up right now between Uvalde and Tulsa.

Some folks are wondering when the bubble is going to go up in various media. Personally, and I hope I’m wrong, I think it will be this fall when food shortages start hitting the major metro areas. Once the food riots start, I don’t believe it will stop short of a full scale nationwide uprising.

Darwin wins again…

A bison gored and killed a 25-year-old woman in Yellowstone National Park on Monday, after she approached the animal despite explicit warning signs in the area instructing visitors to stay at least 25-yards away from dangerous wildlife.

Frankly, I think too many people have watched the Disney channel/Disney type movies and think they are all cute and cuddly…

Just because they sing/dance/talk in the movies, that IS NOT real life! Sadly, this young lady got a reality check that she didn’t survive.

We’ve got the same issues up in the Wichita Mountains preserve just an hour north of us. 650 buffalo, 250ish Longhorns, and various other wild animals roam the park without fences. And people continue to try to get ‘up close’ to the animals for a picture to post on social media or show their friends back home.

If they are unlucky, what their friends get is a closed casket funeral. Darwin wins, NEVER forget that!

I ‘think’ probably 80-90% of us called this one…

Democratic lawyer Michael Sussmann was found not guilty Tuesday on the false statements charge of concealing his representation of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign from the FBI when he pushed since-debunked Trump-Russia claims to the bureau in 2016.

The verdict is a significant loss for John Durham’s investigation, with the special counsel losing the first case that he has brought to trial.

Having to take a case to trial in DC is almost guaranteed to result in a not guilty verdict if the perp is a democrat, and a guilty verdict if the perp is a republican…

Why? Because DC is 90% or better hard core democrat. There is no way in hell the jury isn’t biased from the git go!

President Joe Biden said a 9mm bullet “blows the lung out of the body” while discussing options on gun legislation on Monday, prompting some to suggest he was calling for handguns to be banned.

I have some thoughts on Uvalde after more than 72 hours. Feel free to disagree if you desire.

Yes, the left has jumped up and down in the blood of the dead children and teachers without a thought in hell for WHAT those families are going through right now.

There are a number of questions that we still don’t have answers to, and may not for a good while as the investigation continues, but there are some things that stand out.

WHY was the back door left open? Especially if a teacher looked out and turned away? That one simple action of locking that door/securing the school would have at least delayed the shooter’s entry into the school.

Where was the SRO? Or was this a situation where the SRO shuttled between schools? And why did he/she NOT have a master key to all rooms?

The shooter had ‘problems’, this was known, but apparently nothing was ever done, and he was not on medication. Was this to ‘protect’ him? He was bouncing from home to home, apparently due to ‘anger issues’…

Where did he get the appx $6000 to purchase TWO high end ARs, plus glass, plus 1000 rounds of ammo? He was 18, apparently working at Wendy’s, bouncing home to home, etc. But came up with that much money as a high school aged teen? I really have questions on that…

Do I blame the gun shop? No, the kid passed the 4473 background check, and they are in the business to make money, not turn away sales. Also, we have no idea what he told the gun shop.

Apparently he stole the ‘new’ F250 he was driving from his grandmother, but that is an aside for now.

Who was he talking to on social media? This one is being obfuscated on purpose, I believe.

What happened with the police ‘response’? Did they follow procedure or not?

As reported, apparently the BORTAC entry team had to get the master key from the custodian for the rooms. Why???

What does the left want? Outright ban/collection of all ARs is their goal. For now, depending on whom you listen to, they want 21 years for minimum age to purchase any gun.

They are refusing to address any of the mental health issues, policy/procedure failure issues, or anything else in their ‘drive’ to take these guns away. Nothing is being said about the ‘copycat’ aspects of this either. They are pushing the narrative that ARs are NOT for hunting, and are nothing more than ‘man killers’… I’ve owned a couple of them for over 20 years and neither of them has ever gone off on their own, much less killed anybody… And I will not voluntarily give up a gun I used for competition and marksmanship training.

Robert Francis O’Rourke ensured that he will not be able to be elected dog catcher in Texas (IMHO) with the shit show he pulled at the initial press conference in Uvalde (which he set up, it was NOT spontaneous).

Gov Abbott, FWIW, made an excellent point at that press conference. 18 year olds have been able to buy long guns for 60 years in Texas, and we did not have shootings like this until the last 10-12 years, corresponding with the rise in use of social media like this and the online gaming community.

This is NOT about the gun, it’s about the cultural aspect that we are seeing today, especially among the disaffected young who think everything has a reset button that brings you back to life.

Nobody is saying we should ban cars since drunks and loonies use them to kill people. Why is that? If you want to ban ONE object (guns), why not ban ANY object that kills people (cars, trucks, airplanes)? Or knives like Britain has done (and how well has THAT worked)?

A Veteran Died Today…

We are losing 17 veterans a day to suicide, that IS a drop from the previous years, but still horrific…

If you know a vet with problems, talk to him/her and get them some help!

Almost all of our WWII vets are gone, along with many Korea and Vietnam vets.

He was getting old and paunchy, and his hair was falling fast; and he sat around the post home, telling stories of the past. Of a war that he had fought in the deeds that he had done; sharing exploits with his buddies, all were heroes, everyone. And though sometimes to his neighbors, his tales became a joke, all his comrades listened, for they know whereof he spoke. But, we’ll hear his tales no longer, of ol’ Bob has passed away, and the world’s a little poorer, for a Veteran died today.

No, he won’t be mourned by many, just his children and his wife, for Bob lived a plain and ordinary sort of life. He held a job, raised a and quietly went his way, and the world won’t note his passing, ‘tho a Veteran died today.

See, when politicians leave this earth, their bodies lie in state, while thousands note their passing, and proclaim that they were great. Their life stories are grandly told, from the time they were young, but the passing of a Veteran goes unnoticed, and unsung.

Is the greatest contribution to the welfare of our land, some jerk who breaks his promises and cons his fellow man? Or the ordinary person, who in times of war and strife, goes off to serve this Country and offers up his life?

Now, the politician’s salary and the style in which he lives, are sometimes disproportionate to the services he gives. While the ordinary Veteran who offered up his all, is paid off with a medal and, perhaps, a pension small. It’s so easy to forget them, for it was so long ago, that our Bobs, Jims and Larrys went to battle, that we know. It was not the politicians, with their compromise and ploys, who won for us the freedom that our Nation now enjoys. Should you find yourself in danger, with an enemy at hand, would you really want some “cop out” with his wishy-washy stand? Or, would you want a Veteran who swore he would defend GOD, COUNTRY, FAMILY, and would fight until the end.

Yes, he was just a common Veteran and his ranks are growing thin, but his presence still remind us, we may need his kind again. For when foreigners are in trouble, then the Military’s part, is to clean up all the troubles that the politicians start.

So, if we cannot do him honor, while he’s here to hear the praise, then at least let’s pay him homage at the ending of his days. Perhaps a simple headline in the paper that might say.

OUR COUNTRY IS IN MOURNING FOR A VETERAN DIED TODAY.

1. DON’T WISH ANYONE A “HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY”
This is not a holiday like Christmas and this day was not created to bring glee! Despite what the day has transitioned to in American culture, it was established to reflect, honor and remember America’s military fallen.

2. DON’T DISREGARD ITS IMPORTANCE.
Sure enjoy the sales, grill some amazing steaks, and find the perfect mattress on sale, just don’t forget to raise a glass in honor of those servicemen and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

3. DON’T FORGET WHY IT EXISTS.
This holiday exists for a reason. Use this day to reflect and honor our fallen heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice for you!

4. DON’T LET POLITICS KEEP YOU FROM RENDERING RESPECT.
Even if you don’t agree with the idea of war, or the reasons America goes to war, or the policies of a particular president who was the Commander in Chief during a specific war, it doesn’t matter. People have defended the people and interests of America for over 200 years, and your right to disagree with the reasons for war should be separate from your opinion of the troops themselves.

Thank you for your consideration on these ideas.
