Update(s)…

Calexit- The Anthology is off to a good start, as far as I’m concerned…

Right at 200 copies sold in the first three days, and in the top 100 in Dystopian Fiction on Amazon. In the top 5000 overall in Amazon, and that isn’t bad either!!!

Thanks to those who bought, and we do appreciate honest reviews. AND feeding us starving writers too!!! 🙂

And we have yet another Gun Raffle Package- This is number 14!  A full polish on a stainless or nickel plate on a blued handgun. This is a 600-800 dollar value from Reflections Chrome Plating up in Maine! He is also an FFL, which makes it easy to get the gun of your choice to him! Remember, donate to the Go Fund Me, HERE, and email your receipt to  [email protected].

Thanks again both to those who’ve donated packages, and those who are donating to help Andi fund her therapy! You’re ALL winners in my book.

Raffle/donation update!

1/3 of the way there!!! $8700 as of last night!!!

Simply amazing, and thanks to all who have donated thus far. You are truly a fantastic group of folks, but we’ve got a ways to go!

This is through a Go Fund Me, https://www.gofundme.com/andrea-keenan-medical-fund, so that the money is immediately available to her for her therapy. One IRS change is that Go Fund Me $$ are now counted as income for the family, so we are shooting for a goal of $25,000 to offset the tax burden they will be hit with.

Here are the ‘rules’ $10 per chance, $50/6 chances, $100/12 chances, etc. Make your donation to the Go Fund Me above, and copy your donation receipt to [email protected]. This will count as your entry into the raffle. If you have already donated, we will accept prior donations to the Go Fund Me.

The raffle will run from now through the end of November, with the drawing to be held 1 December via a random drawing program. First number gets their choice, second gets their choice, etc.

Gun Raffle!!!

I know this is a lousy time to ask for money, but one of our extended Blogarado family is in need. FarmFam’s daughter-in-law, Andi, 33 and the mother of two small boys, suffered a stroke in mid August. Unfortunately, it wasn’t diagnosed correctly for two weeks, delaying treatment.

She’s facing a year to 18 months of physical therapy to get back to full function.

Therapy costs are running $200-500 per session, and she needs therapy once a week. Andi has not been able to afford health insurance, because she her husband own a small business that makes too much money for them to get assistance with health insurance, but not enough for them to be able to afford health insurance, and raising two boys.

Any help will be much appreciated, as Andi has begun physical therapy, and without health insurance she has to pay the full cost of every session.

In order to help her out, we are doing another gun raffle to try to help her with her therapy. One change from what we did for Tam is to run this through a Go Fund Me, https://www.gofundme.com/andrea-keenan-medical-fund, so that the money is immediately available to her for her therapy. One IRS change is that Go Fund Me $$ are now counted as income for the family, so we are shooting for a goal of $25,000 to offset the tax burden they will be hit with.

Thank you in advance, I know she will appreciate the help, and this will take a little pressure off the family!

Well, well, well…

All that ‘smoke’?  Apparently there was some ‘fire’ underneath it…

EXCEPT, it was Clinton and the DNC…

The Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund research that resulted in a now-famous dossier containing allegations about President Trump’s connections to Russia and possible coordination between his campaign and the Kremlin, people familiar with the matter said.

Full article, HERE from the WAPO.

And apparently the whole ‘Russian Collusion’ thingie is boomeranging back on the Clintons and Obama…

Uranium One and Rosatom seemed strange at the time, and there was a lot of ‘speculation’ about kickbacks after Slick Willy got $500,000 for one speech in Russia…

Now, well, there is a rather interesting article in the WSJ, HERE. And apparently there is an FBI CI that is willing to come forward and talk to a closed hearing to tell what he knows…

So maybe we’ll finally get some truth out of that bunch in DC, probably drug kicking and screaming, but I’ll wait until there is a grand jury empanelled…

Some days…

It just doesn’t pay to chew through the straps…

Planned to get stuff done yesterday, and that went straight south. About the only thing I accomplished was to finish getting the back yard mowed. But of course I ‘missed’ a Obi-bomb… So had to wash down the lawnmower and the tennis shoes. Dunno ‘what’ that dog has been eating, but dayum!!!

Talked with an old shipmate today, and we got on the subject of ‘odd’ habits… One does develop some strange ones in the military. Since we were both flight crew, and stood ready alerts, we laughed about the red (hot)/blue (cold) bags for TADs, and keeping them basically packed all the time. Then there was always keeping the flight suit ‘loaded’ when we had the ready. Nothing like getting to the base and NOT having your ID card to get your attention… Especially when you were supposed to be in the air in 45 minutes.

Funny how some of those carry over, depending on where one lives. Being in North Texas, and on the dry line, I keep a pair of pants ready to go with everything except the phone and pistol, when I go to bed. One never knows when one will have to get up/get out in a hurry. And those other items are in a specific place, ready to hand.

That’s one ‘trick’ I picked up back in the 70s as a volunteer firefighter, after I drove a fire truck to a fire in shorts/T-shirt/bunker gear, with no license in sight. It was still sitting at home, along with my wallet. Of course that was the night we got followed back to the station by a state trooper… Sigh…

That goes to food choices too… Emergency foods are always stuffed back in the back of the pantry and there are No Ramen noodles… NEVER… But vienna sausages are fine, as is chunky peanut butter, crackers, and plenty of rice and dried beans. I think there is even a can of Spam somewhere in there… 🙂 And plenty of coffee!

Any ‘odd’ habits folks are willing to own up to? 🙂

Heh…

Apparently there are now people actually cataloging who stands for the anthem at the NFL games and who doesn’t…

Sports Illustrated is tracking it among others, HERE is their take on week 7.

And CBS TV is trying to explain the bad attendance away…

It’s hard to argue the facts that attendance and viewership is down anywhere from 7-17% from last year.

Interestingly, camera angles have stopped panning across the crowds in any number of stadiums Sundays confirmed that there are many empty seats. The Atlanta New England game was ALL tight shots, some so close up as to be disorienting, so they didn’t have to show the crowd. It was interesting on the field goal and extra points, the fly over camera wasn’t used, instead they used a camera from behind the goal posts only (so no crowd shots).  But CBS goes further, saying it’s NOT about the protests, instead it’s about lousy football!!!

Full article, HERE.

I think they (the media) are doing anything and everything to NOT show the anthem, the stadiums, etc. and are pushing the feel good stories, and how the athletes are just regular people… Yeah, right… They aren’t worried about the power getting turned off, or the car breaking down, etc…

Personally, I like having my Thursday nights, Sundays, and Monday nights back! 🙂

NASCAR is down to 8 remaining drivers for the championship, and Kansas was a stunner to some teams who thought they were in… Story, HERE.  And NASCAR crowds DO stand for the anthem, along with the teams, and TV has no problem showing that!!!
