Sigh…

Trudeau’s invocation of the Emergencies Act was supposed to be temporary as well, but on Friday, Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland announced the Trudeau regime’s intention to make some of their new authoritarian powers permanent. This, my friend, is how democracies die.

I’m really not sure how this would impact sites like GSG, since they are not Canadian and do not fall under Canada’s fiscal laws. But I have a feeling we are going to find out!
And this will not be for the better. This should give one pause, as they are going after ALL types of transactions. This is one of the downsides of ‘electronic’ $$$. Easy to track transactions, etc.
I remember when Spain converted from Pesetas to the Euro. If I remember correctly, something like $300,000,000 ‘extra’ Pesetas got turned in from the underground/black market economy, much of which the Spanish government tried to tax…
And here in the US, we have people buying silver and gold (and lead and brass, some assembly required), as a hedge against an electronic economy, which is what the left truly wants.
If they were to get that, they would have total control of not only the economy, but ALL of our financial assets and the ability to stop any payment, take any amount of taxes from your savings, 401K, or anything else in the bank.
There are countries that seem to be pushing toward that, like Australia and New Zealand, but I have no idea how effective or not, it has been. And China has been using ‘social currency’ to determine/impact Chinese citizen’s lives for what, three, four years now?

NOT!!!

Without warning, the Biden administration this month told Loudoun County officials that it plans to roll an influx of 16,000 Afghan refugees through a convention center as part of its settlement program.

Sheriff Michael Chapman said Thursday that officials from the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Protective Service said that up to 1,000 at a time would be temporarily housed at the National Conference Center in the ritzy Lansdowne area east of Leesburg, Virginia.

Two different articles, two different approaches to the coverage…

Of note, this case never went to court, so effectively there was no actual case presented. It was simply settled for money and rights to release documentation for a company that no longer exists.

According to the Associated Press, the settlement agreement also allows the families to publicly release many of the documents their attorneys obtained during the discovery process, though its unclear whether the company or its insurers admitted any liability in the settlement.

The lawsuit filed against the gun maker claimed that Remington (which has since been sold to new owners) had negligently marketed its modern sporting rifles by “extolling the militaristic qualities of the rifle“, which they argued violated a Connecticut law regulating deceptive marketing practices.

The decision to settle in the Soto v. Bushmaster case was not made by a member of the firearms industry.  The settlement was reached between the plaintiffs and the various insurance carriers that held policies with Remington Outdoor Company (ROC), which effectively no longer exists. 

As part of bankruptcy court proceedings, the assets of ROC were sold at auction in September of 2020.  Remington Outdoor Company, which owned the Bushmaster brand, effectively ceased to exist as a going concern.   The lawsuit, however, continued against the estate of the Remington Outdoor Company, essentially ROC’s insurers and their insurance policies in effect at the time.

If I were a Canadian trucker, I’d get with my buddies, go home, and park the trucks. When the food isn’t getting delivered, or parts delivered to manufacturers, or anything moving in any quantities by trucks, THAT will make John and Jane Q. Public sit up and take notice.

And as far as I can tell, even with the ’emergency powers’ that Trudeau put into effect, there wouldn’t be a damned thing Trudeau could do about it!

Frankly, I cannot believe the stupidity. All that the administration up there had to do was negotiate in good faith with the truckers. What happened? Trudeau ran like a scared rabbit, then tried to manufacture hatred/violence against him/the .gov, neither of which is true. Then going after money from various organizations after they buffaloed GFM (which showed their true colors), and GiveSendGo taking up the fundraising and laughing at Trudeau (yay for them). Trudeau has backed himself and the .gov into a corner than I’m not sure they know how to get out of…

And in other countries, including the US, truckers are watching this and going, “Hmmm… might work here (insert country here). Especially with the US supposedly closing the southern border (or at least the legal crossings) 22 Feb to non-vaccinated truckers (not mentioning the multitude of illegals flooding across the border then getting sent all over the US).

I really don’t want to do interesting times again… sigh

Good Samaritans with guns counter the narrative…

Peaceful Valley, WA – The sheriff released more details about what led up to the shooting of two Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputies on Thursday and thanked the armed good Samaritans who came to the wounded heroes’ aid and kept them safe until backup arrived.

A “good Samaritan” with a gun killed an active shooter who may have been gearing up for a deadly rampage at a Texas sports bar Wednesday night, police said.

“I think it’s to be applauded,” he said. “Not everybody in the world ought to own a gun. Not everybody in the world ought to carry a gun. Not everyone in the world ought to engage an armed criminal where innocent people could be potentially injured.”

“But this good Samaritan obviously had the ability to do what he did,” Kapelsohn added. “Who knows how many people would be dead if he had not acted?”

Now the left/MSM will never admit that things like this happen… Their counter is that good guys with guns is a myth, propagated by the NRA and the ebil far right gun groups.

Their other counter is that we’re just out there looking for someone to shoot… Every time a state passes a law freeing citizens to carry, the cry is always, “There will be blood in the streets! It will be the old west! OMG, eleventy!!!” And that hasn’t happened in any case. What HAS happened is Crimes Against Persons (CAP) have in fact gone down in each of those states.

I’ve carried legally since 1986 in Florida, and thankfully have NEVER had to draw my weapon to defend myself or others, and I pray that I never do. But I will do what is necessary to protect myself or others if required.

The latest National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin is something else…

The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors. These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence.

And these are snippets of a couple of the ‘key factors’ contributing…

The proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions:

  • For example, there is widespread online proliferation of false or misleading narratives regarding unsubstantiated widespread election fraud and COVID-19. Grievances associated with these themes inspired violent extremist attacks during 2021.
  • As COVID-19 restrictions continue to decrease nationwide, increased access to commercial and government facilities and the rising number of mass gatherings could provide increased opportunities for individuals looking to commit acts of violence to do so, often with little or no warning.
  • Some domestic violent extremists have continued to advocate for violence in response to false or misleading narratives about unsubstantiated election fraud. The months preceding the upcoming 2022 midterm elections could provide additional opportunities for these extremists and other individuals to call for violence directed at democratic institutions, political candidates, party offices, election events, and election workers.
