As a former VFD type, I saw my share of suicides over 10 years of volunteering, and many times heard the comment, “If only…”
We are having way too many suicides within the military community, and I think we can all benefit and learn to ‘recognize’ the signs and help those people get help.

A tragedy occurred in Charleston, SC this week. Nine men and women were killed by a punk with a gun. It seems all the MSM along with BO, the Clintons, and the rest of the LWL are dancing in the blood of these good people. It took me a while to actually FIND the names of those who were killed.

My heart goes out to these families in their time of loss, and there are no words to express how badly I feel.These are the people we need to remember. They were the innocent victims, unable to defend themselves…
They were at church in a bible study and were gunned down by this little punk. And no, I’m not naming him. He’s been caught, and I hope South Carolina puts him to death.
Rather than concentrating on the INDIVIDUAL that did this, and delving into his motives/life, it’s automatic to blame guns… And while this is a tragedy, to me it’s an even bigger tragedy that our ‘leaders’ rather than looking at root causes, have gone immediately to hate crime (which I believe it is), and domestic terrorism, while calling for more gun laws.
What do these people not understand about the fact that criminals DO NOT OBEY LAWS?
BO’s comment- “At some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this kind of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries,”
Just set my teeth on edge… Sweden, France, and Britain all have MORE restrictive laws than we do, and they’ve all suffered mass shootings too.
And CNN is going right along with the agenda… HERE. But never named the victims… Too busy dancing in the blood…
Say a prayer for them, and for their families in this time of grief. I hope the media has the decency to give these families time to mourn and bury their dead in privacy and peace.

California has been fighting this battle for over 100 years, since 1851 apparently…
That’s how long they’ve known there was a shortage of water…
Apparently prior to 1914, some of the ‘discussions’ ended up with people dead from gun shots wounds…
So if you live in Kali, and had ‘rights’ to water before 1914, you’ve got ‘Senior Rights’…
Which means the Kali water resources board has to tread carefully before they cut your water off. However, if you’re a ‘newcomer’, not so much…
Notices have been sent to 114 senior rights holders, telling them to stop diverting water and to stop releasing previously stored water. Those who violate the order face fines up to $1,000 a day and $2,500 per acre-foot.
This apparently also will cause the town of Mountain Home to lose their water. From CBS Sacramento HERE.
BUT, if you’re the Delta Smelt, and on the endangered species list, and have a good lawyer, YOU can get all the water (millions of acre feet), to keep your 3 inch butt alive… (HERE)
And some people don’t care how much they water the yards, especially in the Bay Area and LA areas. I didn’t realize it (mainly because ‘I’ would never be able to afford it), but some folks apparently are/were spending $400 on a water bill every month. Link HERE.
Meanwhile, farmers, you know, those folks that actually GROW things, are trying to figure out a way to stave off bankruptcy and layoffs… Link HERE.
It’s not like Kali hasn’t known this was coming, it’s happened before. But the lack of big picture planning just amazes me. And the slipshod, political, crony BS that seems to play out in Sacramento just… Sigh…
Meanwhile it appears Kali’s response is to blame the OTHER states for not giving Kali all the water they want. This website on Momo Lake and the links are pretty interesting, and show how long ago they started diverting water to feed LA’s insatiable appetite for water… Link is HERE.
There is a harsh reality out there today, and Kali and the other western states need to realize that unrestricted growth and stupid pet tricks like the Delta Smelt are literally costing us our food bowl and who knows how many tens of thousands of jobs.
I wonder how many Delta Smelt it would take to make a meal???
Today Yesterday… DEFINITELY football… Sigh…
0800, get ‘notification’ that my original flight is CANX, moved to 1630 departure…
Get to DFW, sit for four hours…
Flight is late, meaning I’ll miss my connection…
Go to the club, the nice ladies there get me a ticket on AA, only gets in 2 hours later than the ‘later’ arrival…
Change terminals, do the bag drag…
Re-check in… And no seat…
Finally get a seat, but no airplane…
They finally drag an airplane over to the gate…
The crew gets on at takeoff time, and gets back off 20 minutes later…
And they back the jetway away from the jet… sigh… NOT looking good…
Finally deem the acft up and flyable. It’s now 1 hour after scheduled takeoff time…
So there is a rush to board. Gah, what a GRUMPY bunch of people!
Finally get boarded and back away from the gate, and we’re number 10 for takeoff… double sigh…
Yea!!! Airborne!!!
FINALLY get to SAN 2 hours late, 2130 (actually 6 hours late, but who’s counting?)
And… No rental car…
Chase up a rental, get to the hotel at 2230…
And people think this s**t is fun.
But I do have to give kudos to the FAs on AA2283, there were a group of soon to be Marines on board, going to boot camp at MCRD San Diego, and those ladies made sure all those kids (and they DID look young) got something to eat and they didn’t charge them a penny). A few of us offered to cover the cost, but they said it was on them.
Gotta love the vagaries of the conversations when our tribe gets together…
First it was Malta, the Knights Templer, Sinclair Castle, Rosslyn Chapel and the Holy Grail. Then it was movies, lines Christopher Lee said…
Then we moved to the Battle of Gettysburg, Spencer carbines, Stonewall Jackson and the impact of his death on the South, Mosby’s failure to carry the charge, the Army of Northern Virginia and the inability/mistake of not taking a shot at DC, etc…
And what was even more interesting, EVERYBODY contributed to the conversation and ‘knew’ bits of data that supported various arguments/discussions…
Humor, cheap shots (credited and not), and puppy target focus X3…
Especially where food is concerned!!!
The BP is back to normal levels, we’ve all kinda recharged, and are ready to go forth and do battle once again… I think…
